Day 132 - The Cat is Fixed

She's eating again, and purring and generally looking quite happy. She has a check up on Friday, but otherwise we have our old cat back, and we're super happy she's doping well. Phew!

Lovely puss!

Day 131 - The Cat is Back!

And she's doing OK, a bit dopey from the anaesthetic, but otherwise looking well and doing well.

She's even eating again!

Day 130 - Back in Action, Broken Cat

Our systems are back at work, we can work again! Which is surprisingly a good thing, it's a bit boring sitting in front of your computer with nothing to do!

However, in the evening we went for a nice walk just round the local area and got some lovely photos.

Lovely countryside views.

Another shot, this time with a nice tree.

Difficult to see, but on the right of the wooden platform is a lizard! Apparently we have lizards in the UK (first time I've seen one, other than a slow worm), this is a Common Lizard and according to the internet give birth to live young. Rather than the more normal lizard eggs. Random fact there.

Here's a closer shot:

And finally our poor cat, she had a blocked nose and was sneezing out blood, which is never good. The vet told us to keep an eye on it, as most likely something was stuck up there. But it didn't appear to clear so we booked a vet appointment. So it of course cleared on the day of the appointment, but she went in to be safe. Instead we were told that she has some poorly teeth and these need to come out, so she has to spend one night with a cannula inserted ready for surgery tomorrow :(

She's actually totally fine here, apart from the bandage and cone of shame, man she hates that bandage and spent most of the night on our bed punching us trying to remove it. Surgery tomorrow to get the bad teeth out. Good luck Peachy!

Day 129 - Monday Car Collection Day

I got my new (second hand) car! Woo! Last time I showed a picture from the outside, so here's one from the inside. I feel sad about trading in the Jaguar, but this is going to last so much longer, with no issues, cheap repairs if required and tons of exciting new features.

Day 128 - Sunday, Wildlife Park

We bought an annual ticket when we went to the wildlife park recently, so we went again! We have to get our monies worth out of it! Two more visits and the ticket starts paying for itself!

Let's hope we don't get bored of otters!

Here's today's selection:

A Polecat sleeping in it's open bridge tunnel.

Baby deers! Deerlets! Deerlings!

This is a difficult one, right in the centre of the image, on the ground next to the pole is a Lynx, silhouetted. They like to hide!

A happy rainbow loving field mouse!

A wallaby! Hop, hop!

And last today, a wolf!

Day 127 - The Weekend! Bought a Car!

It's not here yet, I should collect on Monday, but my lovely British Jaguar X-Type (technically a Ford Mondeo) is getting a bit old, has a few problems with parking sensors and ABS systems, and potentially warped break discs, needs replacing.

Surprisingly, rather than going for either something totally impractical, or something massive, like the X Type, I've bought a Ford Fiesta!

Happy days, looks nice, modern features, bluetooth everything, Sony sound system and low mileage. Huzzah!

Day 126 - Friday, Busy!

So in work news we've had a massive network outage that's knocked out all of our systems. So it's all hands on deck to try and make sure we can still operate to a degree without anything working. Which is always difficult!

However, work things aside, we're making goo use of the nice weather and took a walk into Romsey town where we visited this labyrinth, which is in an old nunnery. It's designed for prayer and meditation. Unlike a maze the labyrinth has no dead ends, just one single path to the centre and back out again. It symbolically represents unity and wholeness, whereby walking it is your journey to your own centre and back out again into the world.

Either way, the kids loved running round it!

Day 125 - Nice Evening Walk

Thursday and things are going well, the sun is shining and we're in high spirits. So we went for a nice evening walk and saw some baby ducks! That's never a bad thing!

Day 124 - Birb

Lovely Birb, as we call him/her, enjoys listening to the radio and having a dance in the mornings. I made a little nesting box ages ago and while Birb happily sits on the side of it, I have never seen it used fully.

Until today! Well done Birb!

Day 123 - Mega Walk

The kids are in school today (first time since April) and only for one day to meet their new teachers for potentially returning to school in September. But. this meant that I could take a day off and we can go for a massive walk together while the kids are out.

So we went for a 15 miler! We needed a good pace so we could get back in time, and also pick up the car (which we drove to the starting point) and return in time to pick up the kids.

We totally smashed it! Here's some pics from the walk:

The start of the walk, a long path ahead of us.

We are walking along the river test, and this was our first view of it during the walk.

Spotted some swans in the distance.

Beautiful view and reflections.

Here's another view across.

Some new trees being replanted here, it just made for a very interesting view.

We got stuck behind a forestry tractor which was carrying and craning out freshly chopped trees. Interesting to watch.

Great old fashioned tractor.

We went through a pig farm!

They were enjoying a water hole on a hot day, there was also a fountain/water spray for them to play with.

These ones were chilling out.

But this one had the right idea!

One final shot, we arrived back in Romsey by the old mill. Love it!

Fantastic walk, but wow do our legs hurt now!

Day 122 - Monday, and it's lovely weather

Back to work, and back in the office, but I have tomorrow off (woo!) a lovely day today, and I hope it is on Tuesday too as we have a huuuuge walk planned.

Lovely weather!

Nice nature shot - this is a cabbage white butterfly.

Day 121 - New Forest Wildlife Park

We went for a day out to the New Forest Wildlife Park because it's great for the kids, easy to socially distance and also a change of scene. Loved it!

Lovely Otters!

Tiny little field mouse!

A Pole Cat.

Some more otters having a good time.

We managed to get close to a family of deer.

Another shot of them having a nice time.

Some stags!

Long range of a shot with wolves.

And lastly a warthog!

Great day, loved it!

Day 120 - Lovely Family Saturday Walk

We got out for a 5 miler with the kids, and it was lovely. Great weather, great views and a nice spot under a huge tree for lunch.

Here's our lunch tree.

With a view from underneath.

A shot across the fields.

And a nice view through the forest.

Finally we ended the day by having a very small fire in the garden.

Day 119 - Friday, Lunchtime Walk

I took a little walk at lunch round the housing estate around the office area. Thought I;d capture this nice sign the locals have put up.

Hopefully it zooms in enough, but it's thanking the NHS and Key Workers.

Day 118 - Big Walk

A lovely big walk out in the country today, which was lovely with the hot weather.

Beautiful agricultural land!

A Chinook flew over us as we walked.

I just thought this made for a good shot.

And finally we went past a house that has a range of toys stuck to their fence. I liked this guy!
